Abstract

This dataset displays a directory that lists all business and individual delinquent taxpayers in the District of Columbia. The Office of Tax and Revenue (OTR) is a part of the Office of the Chief Financial Officer for the District of Columbia. OTR's mission is to collect the proper amount of tax due to the District of Columbia and correctly account for all revenues, while minimizing the burden on taxpayers and the cost to the government. Fair and equitable tax administration is a priority for the Office of the Chief Financial Officer and the Office of Tax and Revenue (OTR). OTR is moving aggressively to collect unpaid taxes owed by both business and individual income taxpayers to the District, using all available tools up to and including criminal prosecution. Publication of the delinquent taxpayers' lists is part of an overall program to encourage voluntary compliance with the District's tax laws. Purpose

This dataset has been created by Citywide Data Warehouse program. The mission of the Citywide Data Warehouse is to provide timely and accurate information for decision-making; support executive and agency management in the implementation of business processes which will guarantee access to useful and well-organized information for DC Government workers, non-governmental organizations, and the public.
