Abstract
DCTC Complaints Resolved for FY09. District of Columbia Taxicab Commission provides the citizens of the District and its visitors a safe, comfortable, efficient and affordable taxicab experience. The Commission strives to provide taxicab owners and operators with a system of rules and regulations that are fair and transparent and that allow for technological advancements to be introduced to the industry and for properly qualified individuals to participate in the industry. DCTC provides an informal process for resolution of consumer complaints made against taxicab operators, as well as an avenue for commendation of taxicab operators. DCTC also participates in the formal adjudication of Notices of Civil Infractions imposed against taxicab operators for a number of civil infractions that have corresponding civil fines.
