Abstract
Dialysis Centers. This dataset contains points representing dialysis center locations, created as part of the DC Geographic Information System (DC GIS) for the D.C. Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO) and participating D.C. government agencies.
Dialysis center locations were identified from Department of Health records, then geocoded and heads-up shifted to the appropriate building(s).
All DC GIS data is stored and exported in Maryland State Plane coordinates NAD 83 meters.
METADATA CONTENT IS IN PROCESS OF VALIDATION AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE.
Purpose
This data is used for the planning and management of Washington, D.C. by local government agencies.

hours: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm | Dialysis centers were identified from Department of Health records. A point shapefile was created by geocoding the addresses to a qc'd and cleaned up version of the DC Guide address base. Then, these points were compared to the 1995 orthophotographs, the building footprint layer, and the D.C. Real Property Tax owner points to refine their locations. Where determined, staff moved these points to the center of the corresponding buildings and core attributes were added.
For spatial accuracy, staff reviewed a sample of the points with the basemap and ownerpoint layers to ensure proper location using address information. For attribute accuracy, staff verified the existence and attribution of each dialysis center. Staff standardized the item values, then added and populated the GIS_ID field.
All DC GIS data is stored and exported in Maryland State Plane coordinates NAD 83 meters. |

Most DC GIS datasets can be downloaded from "http://dcgis.dc.gov" on the data center page. Orders can also be made by contacting OCTO GIS at "dcgis@dc.gov", especially for datasets not available for download.
