Abstract
Hospitals. This dataset contains points representing hospital locations, created as part of the DC Geographic Information System (DC GIS) for the D.C. Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO) and participating D.C. government agencies. Hospital locations were identified from public records and heads-up digitized from the snapbase.
All DC GIS data is stored and exported in Maryland State Plane coordinates NAD 83 meters.
METADATA CONTENT IS IN PROCESS OF VALIDATION AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE.

fax: (202) 727-5660 hours: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm | Hospitals were identified from lists published by the D.C. Hospital Association website and the D.C. Government. A point shapefile was created by geocoding the addresses. These points were compared to the 1995 orthophotographs, the building footprint layer, and the D.C. Real Property Tax owner points for address and ownership information. The square suffix lot attribute was retained as the link to the data from the D.C. Office of Tax and Revenue. A link to the appropriate website was provided for reference. The geocoded points were then moved to the center of the corresponding buildings and core attributes were added.
Removed Columbia Hospital for Children and the old George Washington Hospital and added the new George Washington Hospital. All changes from source information verified August 2002 and February/March 2003.
