Abstract
DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department (FEMS) stations. The dataset contains locations and attributes of FEMS stations, created as part of the DC Geographic Information System (DC GIS) for the D.C. Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO) and participating D.C. government agencies.
All DC GIS data is stored and exported in Maryland State Plane coordinates NAD 83 meters.
METADATA CONTENT IS IN PROCESS OF VALIDATION AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE.
Purpose
This data is used for the planning and management of Washington, D.C. by local government agencies.

hours: 10 am - 5 pm | Fire stations were identified from lists published by the D.C. Fire and Emergency Management Services website. A point shapefile was created by geocoding the addresses. These points were compared to the 1995 orthophotographs, the building footprint layer, and the D.C. Real Property Tax owner points for address and ownership information. The square suffix lot attribute was retained as the link to the data from the D.C. Office of Tax and Revenue. A link to the appropriate website was provided for reference. The geocoded points were then moved to the center of the corresponding buildings and core attributes were added.

Engine company #3 was added and the attribution was enhanced and standardized. Also, staff added two items to the feature class: ENGINE and BATTALION. |
